Mats

The shell should be 1 to 5 cm thick. Thinner shells (1-2 cm) are convenient for light hikes and are suitable for use in moderate conditions. Thicker ones (3-5 cm) provide better thermal insulation and comfort on uneven surfaces.

1. Unfold the caremat and place it on a flat surface.
   
2. Open the valve and let the foam self-inflate. This may take a few minutes.
   
3. If necessary, add or release air through the valve to achieve the desired stiffness.
4. Close the valve to prevent air leakage.
   
5. Before assembling, squeeze out the air, twist the caremat and store it in the cover.

Choose a styrofoam or combined (styrofoam and air) foam mattress. For field conditions, the keremat should be 1.5 to 3 cm thick for sufficient insulation. Light and compact models are easier to carry. Choose a caremat made of materials that are resistant to mechanical damage and moisture. Also, make sure that the rug is long and wide enough for your height.

Caremat can be made of different materials: foam, air, combined (foam + air).

The best would be a mat with a thickness of at least 1.5 cm, with air filling and a high R-Value.

   • Combined: Combines the properties of foam and air.

   • Thin (up to 1 cm)

3. Weight:
   • Light models for trekking.
   • Heavier for more comfort at base camps.
4. Size:
   • Choose by height to fully cover the body, or folding models to save space.
5. Material:
   • Durable and waterproof for long-term use.
6. Thermal resistance (R-Value):
   • Higher R-Value provides better insulation for cold conditions.
